This site is built on the openly licensed datasets below. We are grateful to their maintainers.

Data volume

Currently covering 86 countries and regions, 1999 administrative divisions and 13746 cities.

GeoNames

Used for: Administrative divisions, city names, population ranking, time zones and postal codes.
Licence: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC-BY 4.0)

Countries States Cities Database

Used for: Sub-city districts and counties, with the postcodes that belong to them.
Licence: Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL)

OpenStreetMap

Used for: Local-language names for Taiwan's districts.
Licence: Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL)

@faker-js/faker

Used for: Person name pools and job title patterns for each country.
Licence: MIT

Unicode CLDR

Used for: Display names for countries, languages and currencies.
Licence: Unicode License v3

How we transform the data

We transform the source data as follows: cities are filtered and ranked by population, postal prefixes are aggregated per administrative division, and name pools are sampled and compacted to reduce transfer size. The randomisation applied during generation is produced by this site's own algorithm and is not part of the source data.

All sources are provided "as is", without warranty of accuracy.
